1) When did you become a Villa fan and why?
I must admit I’m a newbie. I became one before the 2009-10 season. I had watched the EPL for around 10 years and never had a team. I did not wish to be a top four club like all my mates, and I picked Villa for their players and potential. At the time it was when A.Young, Milner and Carew (to a lesser extent) were owning lives and my passion began!
2) Paul Lambert? Your opinion please?
I am so excited and I just can’t hide it. On a more serious note, it is a choice that the fans mostly want and hopefully can inflict an attractive and hopefully successful style of play. Of course to do this we will need new blood. I trust him 3582935238 times more than Big Eck for transfers and thus in Lambert we trust.
3) Best and worst moments of last season?
Best moment was staying up till 1am Australian time to hear the official version that McLeish got the boot. Nice guy, but no results, POOR POOR style of play = Ciao.
Worst moment was either the Tottenham or Arsenal matches…everyone knows the ones and why I detested them.
4) Your opinion of Randy Lerner and the board, can a decent season next season make up for last season?
They have already made a wise move my releasing McLeish swiftly and installing Lambert in a far more Professional manner than the previous two signings. Next season if we win the EPL, FA Cup and the two cups, then yes they will make up for it…Totally realistic…kind of…
5) Which player/s should Villa sign this summer?
A MAXIMUM of five players to start with. We do not have to TOTALLY re-structure the side. I think 2 experienced heads, 2 in their prime and one younger player with potential to play. 3 Backs, 1 DM and 1 CM. I think the forwards with Bent, Gabby, Weimann and Holman could be reinvigorated under PL and give them all a chance to shine with some more positive play from the mids.
6) Which player/s should Villa get rid of this summer?
Hutton and Dunne should be mandatory. If we get 6 million for any of our current CM’s (minus Ireland) then we should accept them. If Gabby gets offered to go to Sunderland for that much, sell him off and SIGN another striker with that money.
7) Favourite current player?
At the Villa, I still have a soft spot for lil Barry Bannan (My first jersey two years ago) and I also enjoy Steven Ireland and hope he can come good! Outside of Villa, RVP is a freak and Sergio Ramos is up there too!
8) Favourite all time player/s?
Zidane and Ronaldo I think are my favourites. Soft spot for Harry Kewell, still have his poster in my room :S
9) What do you expect us to do/finish this season assuming a decent transfer window with £25m or so spent?
Premier I’d say 12-13th would be acceptable AS LONG as we play a much more attractive style and steer clear of relegation at all times.
FA Cup: In the cup games, I’d like ONLY youth and a few fringe players to get game time. Similar to what Wenger does for the early games. Give the youth experience to develop in real situations.
