1) When did you become a Villa fan and why?
Born and bred, generations of Villa fans, it is the one thing I`d not buck the trend on … What a glorious thing to be born into, the claret and blue faith.
2) Paul Lambert? Your opinion please?
Absolutely delighted. Think he`ll make us hard to beat as MON used to seem to be able to do but unlike Judas, he`ll have a plan b, c and if necessary a plan d. I hope fans are patient with him and that the club, fans and manager are now back on the same page and we can see Villa re-establish themselves at the right end of the table. This was their number one target and they got him, after the mistake of last season I`m delighted we have one that isn`t controversial and that the majority seem totally behind.
3) Best and worst moments of last season?
Worst Stan.. nothing else matters in comparison. Get well soon big fella.
Best? Well, usually I say everything to do with Villa but last season was just a chore. So best was the Next Gen games, loved them. Oh but another worst… I thought I was having an egg sandwich and it turned out to be cheese. Cheese is the devils food. I was not impressed and being in polite company, it was difficult to just spit out. Whereas if Deanovilla had been there, I`d have been able to spit it onto one of his cardigans, no one would notice !!!
Lets be honest, the season was horrible, should make the good times all the sweeter.
4) Your opinion of Randy Lerner and the board, can a decent season next season make up for last season?
Well, they made a mistake. I thought the anger and aggression towards them was a bit too much to be honest, think people forget how much money Randy has put in (no other chairman has ever put money in, they have used revenue and taken taken taken from this club).
They have the facilities and training ground bang on, they made a bad mistake then and maybe, just maybe, now they have seen what it is like being on a different page to the Villa fans and how horrible it is, it will refocus them. I`m delighted they saw the mistake and were strong enough to correct it. They could have been stubborn and stuck with him but they didn`t. Also, if they get the blame for bringing him in, they must surely get the praise for now bringing in a hopefully great manager?
Time for the fans to settle down and give them a break in my humble opinion. People say Randy has lost interest, he hasn`t and he we aren`t on a downward spiral, Villa have had good and bad seasons throughout our history, the last two seasons were far from good but even after GH`s we were 9th and biggest in midlands and even after our worst ever home record (etc etc) we still stayed up.
I hope they have the funds to back Lambert, I`m sure that he`d not have come if not.
5) Which player/s should Villa sign this summer?
I`d go with a new defense, up to Lambo who!
We need a playmaker although if Lambo rates Ireland and can get the best out of him, we have one.
I`d love to see James Milner back, he wants to play football, at Man City he doesn`t, so why not?
I`d also get another striker in, Holt if cheap enough although he is a problem player. Not on the pitch or off it, just for me personally because I keep typing Holte! Maybe if he comes to Villa, someone will be good enough to give him an E?!?!
6) Which player/s should Villa get rid of this summer?
Up to Lambo. Whoever he decides to keep I will try and try editorially to give them a clean slate. However a few in defense have let this club down massively and I`d rather see them out. I also think (and I was one of his biggest fans) that the look of disinterest and sulkiness from Gabby makes me wonder if he isn`t better moving on. However, I`ll be delighted if he can get over what looks like a chip on his shoulder re: Bent and can be re-energised. Not impressed with his conduct over the last two seasons though and especially when they made him Captain and yet he carried on with the shrugging type of performances.
I`d keep all the youth players, mostly because how can anyone judge any young player through last season? You can`t can you? I`d not be gutted if Bannan went I guess but if he is rated and we can get the best out of him, then superb, as long as he learns re: off field conduct as well.
7) Favourite current player?
Stiliyan Petrov. Think he has conducted himself fantastically for Villa throughout his time and I know he LOVES this club and worries greatly for it and the fans when things aren`t going right.
Given I think kept us up last season. I also rate Bent highly and hope we build the team around him and that he does show he wants to be here long term.
8) Favourite all time player/s?
How long have we got? Can`t name them all!
I can`t list them all. If I say Ian Taylor he MIGHT buy me a pint one of the days. Also, Sir Dennis Of Mortimer who I have been lucky enough to get to know. Top quality guy, should be central to things at Villa in my ever so humble opinion, would love to see more club ambassadors like Tayls and think OUR captain, Dennis, should be top of the tree.
Loved the Yorke years, Morley, Sid, (oh god, now I`m off) all the 82 squad… Laursen, Mellberg.. Bosnich, Spinks was great… Peter Withe and his shin… I could go on and on (as most of you will no doubt have noticed)… Also … no, I`ll stop there.
9) What do you expect us to do/finish this season assuming a decent transfer window with £25m or so spent?
Premier: Winners…! (I`d take top 7)

Carling: No thanks, I`m not drinking at the moment… also, think the Cup has changed to the Capital One according to someone else!?? ….. WINNERS!

Why does it matter so much?
Logic says it shouldn`t, the heart and the mind shows that it does.
Do you think it was rude that you were once again overlooked for the managers job?

a) Which celebrity/s would you most like to meet and why? Cheryl Cole. Not at all creepy but in Eminem ‘Stan stylee` we should be together…..!!!!!!!!!! I`d love to meet the Rolling Stones simply to say thank you, Ian Gillan to talk about his career and Tony Blair to call him a war criminal to his face.
b) Age 21 in the head, 43 in reality, feel 87
c) Location: I could tell you the specifics but then I`d have to kill you. But obviously I live in Fear Towers.
d) Favourite alcoholic drink: Whatever someone else buys me really! I do like that Japanese beer Ashahi and also Molson Dry doo dah
e) Favourite non-alcoholic drink: Herbal teas, water and also have a slight addiction to Red Bull!
f) Favourite Film/s: So many, Goodfellas, Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Shawshank… I could go on and on, love a good film.
g) Favourite TV Show/s: The Wire, The Sopranos, love nature programmes, like a lot of the American stuff, the Good Wife has been decent and a new one on TCM called Hell on Wheels, (old fashioned western type) is promising. House was great as well. Oh and Game of Thrones and the Fast Show…
h) Music?: Very wide choice, got over 1400 cds, I`m obsessed with list making so love the What are you listening to.. thread! I adore the Rolling Stones, just soooo good. Also U2, Bruce Springsteen, Zep, the old metal like Motorhead, Gillan, Deep Purple, Sabbath, Zepp, Guns n Roses, the older Whitesnake stuff etc. Music is like oxygen to me basically, feeds the old soul and keeps me company (as I don`t allow anyone else in Fear Towers, they might dirty the place up) Also like The Prodigy/Chase & Status etc for their anger ! LOL
i) Best ever moment in your life: any time spent with my nephew and niece, surviving 11 ops, winning the lottery (still to come!) I`m also pretty fond of looking in the mirror, I tell you, it is the gift that just keeps giving! I was very proud to win that Footballs Biggest Fan comp a year ago and the resulting prize was brilliant (an all expenses paid trip to South Africa… Deanovilla got attacked by a spider which made it all the better a trip!)
j) Ambitions: To keep my head whilst those around me continually lose theirs and to keep on keeping on!
