“Winning The League” – Can Villa Fans Stop Panicking Now – Top Deal & Done Dusted

Quite a few Aston Villa fans weren’t sure what to think when it seemed that there was concrete news of our interest in signing super talented Norwich City attacker Emi Buendia, as I wasn’t alone in thinking the Canaries would never let him go this summer after securing promotion back to the Premier League.

I was obviously wrong though, it won’t be the first, or last time, and we had very positive words from Vital Norwich editor Tuckster about the player we had signed – if fans didn’t already know about the Championship Player of the Year.

Despite the 24-year-old being away with Emi Martinez on Argentine duty, we did tentatively announce his capture last Monday, but we were still awaiting a medical and full terms being signed.

As the window opened on Wednesday, some fans got a little itchy that there had been a complication of the deal had fallen through – but fear not, a short time ago this afternoon the Official Site confirmed his arrival on a five year deal following a successful medical and personal terms being agreed.

Head coach Dean Smith said of his first capture of the summer.

“Emiliano has just completed an outstanding season in a championship-winning Norwich side with 31 combined goals and assists and was named player of the season across the league. He is equally capable as a wide attacker or as a number 10 and is a great addition to our attacking options. We are delighted to have made such an exciting signing so early in the summer and look forward to Emi joining up with us for a full pre-season.”

As a reminder of what we are getting.

You can tell why Villans are delighted….and relieved it’s finally over the line.

See, I didn’t even mention Arsenal once, I’m behaving today!
