“Have I thought about lifting the trophy and getting back into the Premier League?’ What do you think?”

Daily Mirror reporter Neil Moxley said of Captain Jack on twitter:

Saw @GaryLineker join the fan club this week. Needs a Premier League platform because the profile will give him proper recognition. No way Villa would have reached final w/o him. Best player the Midlands has produced in years IMO.

The Daily Telegraph journalist reporter Matt Law is also a fan of Grealish:

As you can see, he is sure that Jack Grealish could play for a top-six club. I guess only time would tell, it is a fairly steep jump up, but then look at the quality way he returned from injury this season, especially after Dean Smith very cleverly made him captain. He went from being a skilful player to being a player with an end product, i.e. goals and assists.

The dream is for him to captain us to a play-off final win and then, one would assume, captain us in our Premier League campaign. If we don’t go up……. I don’t like this sentence very much so as not to tempt fate, I will cross it out…… I would imagine he’d have to be let go really. BUT if the Mirror from a few weeks are to be believed, any transfer would come with a hefty £60million price tag.

The interview www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football with Neil has him saying this is his dream and that he used to practice jumping into the Villa crowd celebrating scoring by jumping into the bushes in his childhood garden!!!!!!!!!!!!

“Have I thought about lifting the trophy and getting back into the Premier League?’ What do you think?”

“I dreamed about playing for this club. I was the kid at the side of pitch before games watching everyone warm up. I was the kid who was waiting outside the ground for autographs. Honestly, I can’t put it into words what it would mean.”

And obviously, despite all that being perfectly reasonable, the obsessed have had to have a pop on twitter (such an angry place isn’t it?!). The great unwashed being rude about Jack, whatever next!!?? They call him a cheat and a diver. As Matt Lynch (former Villa View presenter) says in this tweet, “Times booked for diving this season – 0 Times fouled this season – 149”

And more high praise, which I had to wade through the blues-obsessed comments to get to:
