During another dull and boring international break, Aston Villa fans did have something to celebrate when it came to England as Carney Chukwuemeka helped himself to a brace earlier in the week and on Friday evening there was another reason for cheer, as fellow Academy graduate Jacob Ramsey scored his first goal at Under 21 level.

Having again been called into Lee Carsley’s squad, as the 20-year-old midfielder made his third appearance at this level, he grabbed his maiden goal as the second of four that the Under 21s put past Andorra in their 2023 Euro U21 qualifying game.

Ramsey more than played his part in helping the squad to keep their unbeaten record in the competition going, and again, it seems quite apparent that he simply doesn’t do easy goals as this was another long range cracker from the lad.

As you can see on the Twitter thread, it’s not just Villa fans who think this lad is set for a bright future, but calls for a senior call up are way ahead of time here as we all know the further improvement he needs to make despite now being well established under head coach Steven Gerrard – but having stepped up further and added an end product to his game, few could argue he’s not on the right track.
