I doubt I’m alone in getting incredibly bored during international breaks as England just no longer floats my proverbial boat – but there were a few Villans in action on Tuesday evening and it turned into quite a decent night for Aston Villa fans if they were watching our players on.
It might only have been a pointless friendly for England as they welcomed Ivory Coast to Wembley, but Tyrone Mings and Ollie Watkins got starts in the game and both of them got themselves on the score sheet in the 3-0 victory as well.

Watkins opened the scoring for Gareth Southgate’s side in the 30 minute, and Mings added his three minutes into stoppage time to secure the comfortable win.
John ‘Meatball’ McGinn was back in action for Scotland in their friendly out in Austria and whilst there would’ve been disappointment at them losing a two goal lead, McGinn was on the score sheet with their second on the night.

In a game that actually mattered last night, Matty Cash played all 90 minutes as Poland booked their place through to the World Cup Finals.

Hopefully our international contingent will return fit and in good spirits (Robin Olsen aside sadly for him) and they’ll be ready to take all three points off Wolverhampton Wanderers this weekend.
