With Aston Villa head coach Dean Smith prioritising defensive strengthening when the opportunity arose in the January transfer window, some fans wondered what we’d be getting when it came to highly rated Wolverhampton Wanderers youngster Kortney Hause.
The 23-year-old versatile defender arrived on a half-season loan from Wolves and it was always known that we had a permanent buy clause included in the deal, and most agreed that was for £3million.
With talk this week that we have optioned that clause and that we’ll potentially announce his arrival before the end of the week, I thought some reactions from the Black Country to his potential sale were quite telling.
With a slow start to life at Villa Park, he certainly went on to prove his worth in the heart of defence and was very impressive in his games in the left back spot as well and at least from the comments I can see, they seem to think £3million is a steal.
After what we’ve seen from him, I think most Villa fans would agree as well. Quite a nice gap between what we’re paying and what they think we should be paying eh!
Way too cheap for an England U21 defender ! 10 mill more like !

very cheap given his potential

Is that £3m basic plus add-ons? Seems very low for someone of his age who could yet develop into a capable player in the mid-lower PL level.

If Bournemouth can ask for £15 million for Ming's then we surely should be asking for more than 3 million.

I think £3m is a bargain for him and perhaps we could have pushed the price up. Left footed centre halves in are in high demand

He's worth 6 mill. Don't know who is responsible for under valuing Wolves players

I get why we've sold Hause but I still don't get why the price was so low. Why are we doing Villa any favours? Should have been at least 5 or 6 million surely? #WWFC
