The club are in talks with Tottenham about selling Jack Grealish, according to Skysports.com.
The website does not offer any further information about the discussions, but it claims that the talks are “ongoing”, with the player rated at between £30m and £40m.
In some ways, it is good news that the talks are happening now. If Spurs were to leave it to right to the end of the transfer window they may have stuck to a very low bid.
However, in the same instance, the fact that negotiations are taking place right now could be a bad sign. The Express & Star believe that movement on a takeover, or minor investment, could happen “as early as this week”.
If the transfer of Grealish is happening, it could mean that a takeover/minor investor isn’t imminent, or the sale of our talisman is being pushed through to ensure Tony Xia keeps full control of the club and can avoid administration.
