It was confirmed earlier today that on loan Swansea City midfielder Tom Carroll had now undergone surgery on his hip and he’s now returned to the Liberty Stadium to begin his rehabilitation.
The 26-year-old arrived at Villa Park during the January transfer window on a half season loan spell and we did hold a buy clause on him that is now presumably redundant.
Given the former Tottenham Hotspur Academy graduate only made two substitute showings for us following his arrival, it’s obviously a massive blow for him given his injury record, but it won’t interrupt our plans too much as we continue to keep one eye on potential Play-Off promotion in the campaign of 2018/19.
Shame it’s worked out this way as some had high hopes for him given what they had seen at other clubs, but football can have a tendency to kick you in the knackers.
Gutted that surgery was the only remaining option. All the best for the rest of the season @AVFCOfficial Go & get promoted ????????
