Trekker is next for the Vital Villa interview.

1) When did you become a Villa fan and why?

From birth, dad was born literally on the doorstep of Villa Park, Grandad repaired the players boots and went out on the town with Pongo Waring.

First game was 1967 (I was 7) been every season since.

2) What is your favourite Villa moment of all time/most treasured memory?

I have several, home v Man U in League Cup semi 1970 62,500 in Villa Park, Bournemouth in the old 3rd division, Promotion back to Div 1 in 70’s European Cup etc etc etc

3) If you could bring back a former Villa player into this team (at his peak) who would it be and why?

This varies, I would love to have Sir Brian Little back, but we need McGrath, Mellberg or Laursen

4) Paul Lambert? Your opinion please?

I was underwhelmed when he was appointed, I had got quite excited by the prospect of OGS. As always I believe managers deserve a chance. I think we’ve been abysmal at times this season, but a good finish hides a multitude of sins!

5) Best and worst moments of last season?

Capitulating over Christmas.
Beating Liverpool away.

6) Some say last season was a success, others not so much. What is your opinion?

To escape by the skin of our teeth is not a success.

7) Your opinion of Randy Lerner and the board?

I was staggered by the appointment of McLeish , it showed up a naivety and a stubborn trait and but what can he or anyone do if players decided they want to leave? It happened with Rioch, Gray, Platt, Yorke etc, its not being a selling club, even Arsenal can’t keep their players.

8) Which player/s should Villa sign this summer?

Centre half, left back, winger

9) Which player/s should Villa get rid of this summer?

The deadwood like Dunne, Ireland, Hutton, Bannon, Albrighton.

10) Favourite current player?

Westwood, I think he has real potential.
