On Wednesday evening, Aston Villa held their End of Season Awards Dinner and one hotly debated gong was always going to be Goal Of The Season.

The two favourites to lift the award were always going to be Jack Grealish or John McGinn given their efforts across the year, but having lifted the prize for the more team like goal against Rotherham United, Jack himself quipped on social media that it should’ve gone to the Scottish Cafu for his goal against Birmingham City earlier in the campaign.

Alan Hutton had picked the ball up in our own half and basically went through the majority of their squad unaided (and unchallenged), before slotting the ball in the back of the net.

We took the game 4-2 at Villa Park to secure bragging rights for yet another season and Jack’s Tweet certainly found favour with plenty of fans, both in terms of agreeing with him, and pointing to McGinn’s own goals, but also appreciating the quiet undercurrent of the potential dig given the St Andrew’s affair.
